November, 2008 DMS contracts with The City of Waterbury, CT to provide Disability Pension claim consulting services. DMS has entered into an agreement with The City of Waterbury, CT to provide Independent Medical Exam ("IME") services, medical records and IME reviews, and eligibility recommendations for their disability pension claims.
November, 2008 DMS is a Team Sponsor for Junior Achievement's Student Stock Market Challenge DMS was a team sponsor for the 3rd Annual Junior Achievement Student Stock Market Challenge held on November 13th at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. More than 475 middle grade and high school students throughout Western Massachusetts participated in the event. The Stock Market Challenge is an advanced high-tech stock market simulation where teams compete in a virtual world to see who will amass the highest net-worth by the end of the investing period. The event is fast-paced, with teams competing though sixty trading days in one hour, or a new trading day every minute. Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating young people about business, economics and free enterprise.
October, 2008 DMS contracts with ITT Corporate, Advanced Engineering & Sciences Division ("ITT") for benefit eligibility and claim assessment services for Short-Term Disability claims. DMS has entered into an agreement with ITT Corporate, Advanced Engineering & Sciences Division ("ITT") to provide benefit eligibility and claim assessment services for Short-Term Disability claims submitted on behalf of ITT employees. Additionally, DMS is providing Appeals Review services for select claims.
October, 2008 DMS recognized as "Super 60" award winner For the eighth consecutive year, DMS has been recognized by the Affiliated Chambers of Commerce of Greater Springfield as a "Super 60" award winner for the year 2008. Now in its nineteenth year, the program celebrates the success of the fastest-growing, privately-owned businesses which continue to make signifcant contributions to the strength of the regional economy. DMS was recognized in the Total Revenue category. The "Super 60" award program is open to privately held companies based in Hampden and Hampshire counties that have been in business for at least three years and have generated revenues of at least $1 million in the last fiscal year.
September, 2008 DMS associates present at the International Claims Association (ICA) Meeting Stephen P. Rice, CPA and Jeff Green, PhD were speakers at the Ninety-Ninth International Claim Association meeting held in Palm Desert, California. Stephen Rice's presentation "Occupational Validation and Additional Assorted Benefits of Following the Money Trail" focused on how effective financial reviews support the claims professional in validating pre and post disability occupational duties and activities. Jeff Green's presentation, "Return to Work with Psychiatric Conditions, Part II" centered on how to identify and employ effective case management techniques to facilitate return to work for individuals with psychiatric impairments. Attendees at the ICA conference included claim professionals from most major U.S. disability insurers, medical and investigative professionals and attorneys.
May, 2008 DMS supports Disability Insurance Awareness Month (DIAM) May 2008 is Disability Insurance Awareness Month. During this month, the insurance industry focuses on raising awareness of the enormous gap that exists between Americans need for disability income protection and the actual coverage they have in place. The LIFE Foundation is coordinating this industry-wide campaign with dozens of insurance companies and other industry trade groups. During the month of May, the DMS website will display the DIAM logo with a link to the LIFE Foundation website.
February, 2008 DMS associates take part in the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" campaign DMS joined the American Heart Association and other concerned companies and organizations across America in the fight against heart disease by hosting a three-day education and fundraising campaign for its employees.
